Headed to Lindsborg KS for the Coronado’s Challenge 4hr. m0untain bike race on Sunday. It was sort of last hooray for 2009. Most people think central KS and flat lands. Well we were just outside the flint hills and the course was centered around Coronados Hill and was full of climbing. The race was a ton of fun and the group that put it on were great as well. The fun was tempered a little due to the fact that I has 3 flats. That was the first time in a long time that I have had that many problems. All that said I am looking forward to this race next year. Now its time to make it through the holidays and then get ready for 2010.
In 2010 looks like the Tri guys will be doing at least 1 half ironman and they will throw in some sprint and olympic distance races in as well. The Mtn Bikers will be looking at the longer stuff this year with a few 50+ milers and at least one 100 miler. They will be throwing in some shorter local races. The team will also do a few off-road duathlons as well. We will keep you posted as the dates for events are posted and we solidify our race calendar.
If the weather decides to cooperate we will be heading out to central KS. to race at Coronado’s Challenge 4hr XC race . It will be the last race of the year and then it will almost be time to start training for real for 2010. We have some bigger races on tap in 2010. We’ll keep you posted.
Since all the hoo-rah about this team, it’s nice to finally see something show up! It’s about time to make it official this “off season” so that we are up and running for the spring.
I think my month or so of rest and recovery is drawing to an end. There is something about the cold weather that makes me really look forward to running outside? Wierd. Although as much as I like running in the snow… I HATE riding on the trainer inside. But, we’ll see what happens. Maybe a new bike will help with that? At least in the short term it would.
I think Brooke is going to be spending some time on the bike as well since it looks like she has a stress fracture in her lower right leg. Too bad. She’s not a happy camper when she’s not running. Although she did just finish a MARATHON with it! So that is pretty sweet.
We’ll get some pictures and links to our website and future sponsors up soon.
