God’s Country Off-Road Duathlon

Just got the results for the God’s Country Off-Road Duathlon.  Well I did pretty good it turns out that I finished 19th overall and 2nd in my age group.  I feel pretty good about that, since I put in a big effort the day before at the 3hr mtn bike race.  Also here is new photo of the new rig that is in transit.  Looks super sweet and fast!!!

Song & Race update

The Song is progressing here is an updated photo, went with a flat black “stealth like”.  Brendan @ Siren has done an awesome job, it truly is a work of art.  I cannot wait for it to show up so I can build it up and hit the trails.  The weather is finally starting to cooperate.  This past weekend was packed with racing.  On Saturday we did the Lawrence River Trails Challenge and competed in the marathon division which was 3 hrs.  I thought it would be a moderate pace since it was 3 hours long.  Couldn’t been further from that!! It was 3 hours of flat-out racing on a 5 mile circuit.  It was like NASCAR a few quick stops to switch bottles and grab a gel pack.  The legs were a little trashed since that was the first mountain bike race of the season.  Then on Sunday went to the God’s Country Off Road Duathlon, a quick sprint style 2 mile run, 13 mile bike, 2 mile run.  Racing on legs that were still slightly feeling the prior days racing I thought I would go out and have fun, that lasted until the start horn and then I found myself trying to keep up with the front runners and went flat out on the bike portion and ended up with a Top 20 performance.  I haven’t seen official results from either event, they should be posted soon.   Next up is the Bone Bender 6hr mountain bike race, and the Gunnison Growler is sitting out there in May.
